Summary
A twelve-year-old cat was presented because of diarrhea, polydipsia, anorexia, weight loss and weakness since 14 days. Examination revealed a case of chronic eosinophilic leukemia because of an eosinophilia in the blood with < 30% blasts, infiltration of the organs with eosinophilic bandform granulocytes and a M:E Index (myeloid:erythroid index) > 10 in the bone marrow. Chronic eosinophilic leukemia is extremely rare in cats. The differential diagnosis includes the hypereosinophilic syndrome.
